Description
key features of large diameter carbon fiber tubes

Principales fonctionnalités

A large diameter carbon fiber tube provides another option. Carbon fiber combines low weight with high stiffness. The laminate can also be designed around the main load direction instead of using the same material structure in every direction.

Depending on the design, the tube may include axial, angled and circumferential reinforcement. This allows engineers to balance bending stiffness, torsional strength and hoop performance.

Our tubes can be supplied as basic cylindrical shells or developed with additional operations such as cutting, forage, edge finishing and bonded metal components.

    Foire aux questions

    1. What is considered a large diameter carbon fiber tube?

There is no single industry definition. The term generally refers to a tube that is significantly larger than common stock carbon fiber tubing and requires custom tooling, laminate design or manufacturing.

    2. Can the diameter and wall thickness be customized?

Oui. Diamètre, length and wall thickness can be developed according to the project. Tooling feasibility and performance requirements must be reviewed first.

    3. Can you manufacture a single prototype?

Prototype production can be discussed. Tooling cost, tube size and process requirements may affect the minimum practical order quantity.

    4. Is the tube resistant to corrosion?

Cependant, chemical resistance and environmental durability depend on the resin, revêtement, temperature and transported medium.

    5. Quelles finitions de surface sont disponibles?

Options may include an as-molded winding finish, ponçage, painting and application-specific coatings. Final availability depends on tube size and end-use requirements.
